Darryl Wiebe

Owner & CEO


Darryl has been part of the KERR organization since 1986.  He completed his Journeyman training at NAIT in 1994 and won 1st place in the province of Alberta, then went to Philadelphia to compete in the North American Apprenticeship championship and placed 3rd overall!  Darryl also graduated from the U of A with a B.Sc. degree in 1986. 

Darryl became one of the owners of KERR in the year 2000 and is currently CEO and Chief Estimator. 

Darryl has always tried to give back to the industry as much as possible, he has been on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Wall and Ceiling Association several times, including one term as President; he as served on the Board of Directors for the NorthWest Wall and ceiling Bureau and the EIFS Council of Canada as well.  Darryl also served 6 years on the Provincial Apprenticeship Committee and another 6 years as Chairman of the PAC to help develop and update the NAIT Apprenticeship program for the Lather/ ISM trade.

Darryl enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and competing in motocross, skiing, camping and anything on the water.


Wendell Wiebe

Owner & Project Manager


Wendell began his career with KERR full-time in 1988 as a delivery driver and progressed through the apprenticeship program at NAIT to become a journeyman Interior Systems Mechanic in 1993.  He worked on multiple projects throughout Edmonton and Alberta to become well rounded with all areas of our trade. 

In 2000 Wendell became a partner in the company and was mentored by one of the founding partners to manage our projects and manpower in a project management role. 

Some of the values that his father taught him before his official retirement in 2003 were honesty and integrity and a “do it right the first time” attitude which is still applicable to this day.  

Wendell was also on the board of directors for 2 years in the AWCA and managed a project that was recognized by the association to win an award. 

When he is not at work he enjoys being with his wife and 2 boys at home or enjoying the outdoors.  He also enjoys riding motorcycles, camping, boating, hockey, and rugby. 


Barry Derkson

Owner & Project Manager


Barry started his career with KERR Interior in 1980 as an apprentice, and finished #1 in the province upon completion of his journeymen ticket.  He has been involved with apprenticeship training, sitting on the Provincial apprenticeship committee and the national Red Seal program. 

Barry became part of the ownership group of KERR in 2002, and holds the position of Project Manager. 

Barry enjoys time at his cottage, as well as hunting and fishing with his two boys.  He and his wife continue to enjoy adventure traveling to faraway places. 


Leslie Todd

Purchasing Manager


Leslie joined the KERR team in July 2006, after spending 16 years in electrical manufacturing, doing a wide variety of tasks such as: inside sales, quality control, accounting, inventory control & purchasing. 

Leslie’s primary responsibility is for the procurement and logistics of all materials, equipment & services. 

Leslie values the KERR culture of “honesty & integrity”.  She enjoys the camaraderie working with the KERR people and cultivating the relationships with suppliers. 

Outside of work, Leslie’s interests include : reading, movies, curling, yoga, travelling, as well as spending time with her husband, family & friends.


Tyler MacRae


Tyler was born and raised in Edmonton and he attended Jasper Place High School.  After high school, he enrolled at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) where he earned a degree in accounting.  He later went on to earn his Certified Management Accountants (CMA) designation in 2011 and is currently a Charter Professional Accountant (CPA).

Tyler joined KERR in 2016 after spending the previous 8 years of his career in the traffic industry, ultimately serving as the CFO of a privately held company.

He considers himself a lifelong learner and enjoys sharing experiences with others.  Tyler has been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California (USC) several times and was a planning committee member and presenter at USC's Summer Leadership Program for high school students in 2016.

Tyler is a fan of all kinds of sports, and likes to spend his free time with his wife Jessika and their son Cadeon, mostly watching or playing sports together.


Curt Guenther



Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Curt started working for an Exterior Renovation company at a young age, right out of high school. This lead to pursuits in tile and hardwood, home renovations, new home construction, and eventually started a residential and commercial framing business. While building and selling homes with his wife as a hobby on the side. 


Eventually moving to Alberta, Curt spent several years as a Site Superintendent for a General Contractor in Edmonton. 

Always learning and looking for new challenges, Curt took on a new adventure as an Estimator with Kerr in the summer of 2016.


When he's not working, Curt spends his time with his wife and 4 children. He loves to race motocross with his boys and spend time with family and friends. As a carpenter at heart, he always has a home renovation project on the go



 Penny Dufresne

Reception / Payroll


Penny started with Kerr December 2016 to assist the office staff with a variety of tasks.  She spent 10 years in the Cabinet industry prior to starting at Kerr.

Penny enjoys learning and expanded her knowledge of business with courses in Law and Accounting. She began her educational journey at NAIT studying Engineering and completed the Architectural Technologist program to fill her creative side which she utilizes in numerous small projects.

Born in Edmonton she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids at home and at the family farm. She enjoys using extra time creating and designing in gardening , painting, sculpting and baking.



Ian Trupp

Project Manager


Ian began his career in the ISM trade over 24 years ago and worked for the same company (no longer in business( the entire time).  Ian finished 1st overall in Alberta when completing his journeyman ticket from NAIT.  In 1992 he competed in Vancouver for the apprentice championship & finished 3rd!

Ian joined KERR in April 2013 and worked on site as a foreman, prior to coming into the office in June 2016 as Project Manager. Ian is currently serving on the Alberta Apprenticeship Committee.

Away from work, Ian enjoys time with his wife and daughter, as well as fishing, hiking and traveling.



Steve Boser

Estimating and Business Development

Steve was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 2002 to attend the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), where he graduated with a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. From there, he began his career with a structural engineering firm and went on to earn his Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation. Always intrigued by the practical aspects of the business, he eventually entered the construction industry where he has worked in estimating, business development and project management roles.

Steve joined Kerr in January 2018, having spent the previous 13 years in the wall and ceiling industry. Always eager to stay involved, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Wall and Ceiling Association and is the chairman of the Technical Committee.

Away from work, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children. He has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys camping, hunting, fishing and sports. As a baseball fanatic, he and his family like going out to the ball park to catch a game.



Levi Hooft

Purchasing/ Project Administrator

Levi enrolled in the summer Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) In grade 11 and started with KERR in June 2014. He worked in our shop and managed everyday site deliveries through February 2015 before returning to successfully complete the final semester of High School now with 1000 hours experience in the trade.

Jump to January 2018 Levi fast tracked through all three years of the Lather - ISM program at NAIT and received his

Journeyman certificate with Red Seal Designation. KERR fulfilled their promise to Levi to reach his goals and get his hours in a small window of time and in doing so became one the first batch of five new journey persons towards KERR’s goal of “certifying and improving the lives of 100 ISM’s before 2028”.

The trade taught Levi life skills he will reflect and use in his everyday journeys ahead but the works was specifically physically demanding for him. His decision to move onto bigger and better things was extremely difficult because at 20 years old working on site with KERR was his every day norm for 3+ years. Harnessing Levis strengths and trade knowledge, KERR offered him the newly created role of Purchasing and Project Administrator in December 2018 which was easy for him to accept as it aligned with his future goals of assisting with projects and logistics at KERR.

Outside of work Levi has been a swim coach for 8 years now, Enjoys weekends Skiing or in San Diego and is fortunate enough to have traveled the world. His all-time favorite countries to visit include Vietnam, Austria and Cuba.



Devon Lewandoski

Project Manager

Devon was born in Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 2003.  He completed his apprenticeship in 2006 as a Red Seal Journeyman.  Once completing his apprenticeship, Devon ran projects of various sizes including a new hospital.  Always striving to gain more experience and challenge himself, he received his National Construction Safety Officer (NSCO) Certification in 2012 and later gained 5 years of experience in estimating within the industry. 

Devon joined Kerr in January 2018 as a Project Manager, after spending 16 years in the drywall industry and 18 years in construction.  He is also a current member of the Provincial Apprenticeship Committee (PAC)

Outside of work, Devon enjoys spending time with his family.  He loves camping, fishing, watching his son play lacrosse and other sports.  Devon also has a passion for road trips and can be seen in his Slingshot when the weather is nice driving to work, lacrosse or even Seattle to take in a Blue Jays game or two with his spouse. 



Daniel Kogan

Project Coordinator

Daniel joined the Kerr team in 2019, shortly after completing his degree in Urban Planning at the University of Alberta.

He grew up in construction, and started working in residential construction in Junior High School where he learned many skills throughout this time. He is always eager to further develop his skills and knowledge to improve the efficiency, quality, and safety of this industry.

Daniel also enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and being with his dogs.”
